Nestled in the heart of historic St. Augustine, Blackfly The Restaurant offers a truly captivating dining experience that masterfully blends coastal elegance with vibrant flavors. Specializing in seafood and refined American cuisine, Blackfly presents a menu that excites the palate with its inventive takes on classic dishes. Whether you’re craving the buttery richness of Coconut Crusted Lobster or the bold, umami-packed notes of the Furikake Crusted Ahi Tuna, each plate promises a symphony of textures and tastes that linger pleasantly long after the last bite.

The culinary team showcases fresh, coastal ingredients in dishes like the Seared Sea Scallops—perfectly caramelized to golden perfection—and the indulgent Surf and Turf that unites tender filet mignon with succulent seafood in an irresistible duet. Adventurous diners will find delight in the Authentic Bahamian Conch Fritters, a traditional recipe bursting with tender conch and served alongside a piquant Datil Pepper Remoulade, delivering a playful contrast of creamy and spicy flavors. For those seeking comforting yet sophisticated fare, the Mushroom Wellington is an earthy, savory masterpiece that satisfies both vegetarians and gourmands alike.

The restaurant’s atmosphere perfectly complements its menu — lively yet inviting, with a modern coastal charm that makes it an ideal venue for both an intimate dinner and special celebrations. Blackfly’s versatility extends beyond dining; with banquet halls and event spaces available, it effortlessly transforms into a premier spot for memorable gatherings and celebrations.

Signature appetizers such as the Clams Casino baked with a crispy, savory topping or the decadently creamy Coquilles Saint-Jacques set the tone for an exquisite meal. For pizza enthusiasts, the daily chef’s special and thoughtfully crafted options like the Chicken & Arugula with garlic truffle oil highlight the kitchen’s dedication to fresh, high-quality toppings and innovative flavor profiles.

Real diners frequently praise Blackfly for its exceptional food and warm hospitality. Kerrie Russo fondly recalls the attentive service that added a joyful ambiance to their visit despite a busy Friday night, while Melissa Sheffield highlights the bold flavors and beautiful presentation, especially loving the tuna and blackened flounder. Alexandria Martin’s glowing review celebrates the diverse seafood offerings and the friendly staff, and Keith Roberts urges visitors not to miss out on the peach cobbler after a round of delicious drinks. Meanwhile, Megan Harber appreciates the great value and freshness of dishes like the Mexican Street Corn Salad with chicken and mango, noting the restaurant’s genuinely friendly service.

Blackfly The Restaurant is more than just a place to eat — it’s a destination where every dish tells a story of the sea, every sip is a celebration of craftsmanship, and every visit feels like a special occasion. The food was amazing! We did make a reservation so we were seated in the private dining area. It was a Friday night and the place was very busy, louder in the main room. Our waiter and the bartender were extremely friendly, making us laugh the entire time. Will definitely go back on our next trip to St Augustine.

We walked to this restaurant from our nearby Edgewater Hotel. The food is top quality and presented beautifully. My husband has the tuna and it was delicious. I had the blackened flounder which was also great. It was a little spicy for my taste, but they are not afraid of flavor here. Your taste buds will thank you.

Delicious! We had the lobster egg rolls (not pictured) along with Seafood & Grits, Trigger Fish, Salmon and Red Snapper. Will definitely return!! The staff was great, especially Stephany.

Amazing value for money at this restaurant, I had the Mexican salad with chicken, highly recommend adding mango! Super fresh and tasty. Service was attentive and friendly. This review was made in connection with a toast promotion.

Had some sort of late snacks at this place last night for Christmas Eve since lots of places was not open so I’m happy enough to have small bites and me and my husband were checking this place out. We sat by the bar, Erin.w was the one that took our order, she was sweet and friendly. We got fish katsu and margherita oven brick pizza. The pizza was not bad. The fish katsu was also pretty good, for myself I just didn’t really like their sweet chili sauce.
